Dangerous Cycling |

|
We know that dangerous cycling in Camden Town Centre remains a concern for many residents, businesses and visitors. We regularly receive reports about cyclists failing to comply with traffic signals, cycling on pavements and riding in a manner that puts others at risk. We want to reassure the community that we are taking proactive steps to tackle these issues through targeted enforcement activity and joint operations with our partners. Our aim is to improve safety for everyone using Camden's streets, whether they are walking, cycling or driving. As part of this ongoing work, officers carried out an enforcement operation yesterday at Britannia Junction. During the operation, officers issued 6 Traffic Offence Reports (TORs) for cycling offences: We would also like to remind cyclists that, although parts of Camden Town Centre operate as a pedestrian zone, the normal rules of the road still apply. The roadway through the pedestrian zone remains a one-way road, and the pavements remain pavements. Cyclists should therefore comply with all traffic signs, signals, road markings and restrictions in place. Enforcement activity will continue across the town centre, and we will work with our partners to address locations where community concerns have been raised. By taking action against unsafe cycling behaviour, we can help ensure Camden Town Centre remains a safe and welcoming place for everyone. | ||
